The objectives of the NYCJ shall be:
- To strengthen and organize youth networks and improve the sustainability of youth organizations and youth clubs
- To promote social cohesiveness, volunteerism, national consciousness, and patriotism among youth.
- To foster youth leadership, development, and empowerment in youth organization at the community and national level.
- To encourage and foster positive values among youth and youth organizations.
- To strengthen the Parish Youth Councils, regional youth council and other affiliate member organizations
- To assist in the formulation, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of Government policy regarding youth, and
- To advocate for youth participation in all levels of governance
- To forge partnerships with private and public sector stakeholders.
- To advocate for the rights of youth in Jamaica
